The controlled assembly of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with the size of quantum dots into predictable structures is extremely challenging as it requires the quantitatively and topologically precise placement of anisotropic domains on their small, approximately spherical surfaces. We herein address this problem by using polyoxometalate leaving groups to transform 2 nm diameter gold cores into reactive building blocks with hydrophilic and hydrophobic surface domains whose relative sizes can be precisely tuned to give dimers, clusters, and larger micelle-like organizations. Using cryo-TEM imaging and 1H DOSY NMR spectroscopy, we then provide an unprecedented “solution-state” picture of how the micelle-like structures respond to hydrophobic guests by encapsulating them within 250 nm diameter vesicles whose walls are comprised of amphiphilic AuNP membranes. These findings provide a versatile new option for transforming very small AuNPs into precisely tailored building blocks for the rational design of functional water-soluble assemblies. 相似文献

We show that the quotient of two caloric functions which vanish on a portion of an \(H^{k+ \alpha }\) regular slit is \(H^{k+ \alpha }\) at the slit, for \(k \ge 2\). In the case \(k=1\), we show that the quotient is in \(H^{1+\alpha }\) if the slit is assumed to be space-time \(C^{1, \alpha }\) regular. This can be thought of as a parabolic analogue of a recent important result in De Silva and Savin (Boundary Harnack estimates in slit domains and applications to thin free boundary problems, 2014), whose ideas inspired us. As an application, we show that the free boundary near a regular point of the parabolic thin obstacle problem studied in Danielli et al. (Optimal regularity and the free boundary in the parabolic Signorini problem. Mem. Am. Math. Soc., 2013) with zero obstacle is \(C^{\infty }\) regular in space and time. 相似文献

An enhanced one-pot synthesis of new functionalized 5,6-dihydro-5,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-2H-pyridazino[3,4,5-kl]acridin-1(4H)-one derivatives with different substituted patterns by using mesoporous MCM-41 catalyst via a ring opening/ring closure reaction process has been established. This MCM-41 silica catalyst has been synthesized and characterized using an array of sophisticated analytical techniques like BET, XRD, UHRTEM, etc. This reaction could be conducted from inexpensive substrates within short period under neat reflux conditions. [{Mn(TPA)I}{UO2(Mesaldien)}{Mn(TPA)I}]I formula (here TPA=tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine and Mesaldien=N,N’-(2-aminomethyl)diethylenebis(salicylidene imine)) reported by Mazzanti and coworkers (Chatelain et al. Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2014 , 53, 13434) is so far the best Single Molecule Magnet (SMM) in the {3d–5f} class of molecules exhibiting barrier height of magnetization reversal as high as 81.0 K. In this work, we have employed a combination of ab initio CAS and DFT methods to fully characterize this compound and to extract the relevant spin Hamiltonian parameters. We show that the signs of the magnetic coupling and of the g-factors of the monomers are interconnected. The central magnetic unit [UVO2]+ is described by a Kramers Doublet (KD) with negative g-factors, due to a large orbital contribution. The magnetic coupling for the {Mn(II)-U(V)} pair is modeled by an anisotropic exchange Hamiltonian: all components are ferromagnetic in terms of spin moments, the parallel component JZ twice larger as the perpendicular one J⊥. The spin density distribution suggests that spin polarization on the U(V) center favors the ferromagnetic coupling. Further, the JZ/J⊥ ratio, which is related to the barrier height, was found to correlate to the corresponding spin contribution of the g-factors of the U(V) center. This correlation established for the first time offers a direct way to estimate this important ratio from the corresponding gS-values, which can be obtained using traditional ab initio packages and hence has a wider application to other {3d–5f} magnets. It is finally shown that the magnetization barrier height is tuned by the splitting of the [UVO2]+ 5 f orbitals. 相似文献

A zinc containing metal–organic gel (Zn-MOG) with embedded free ions, which exhibits self-healing properties, has been synthesized for application in supercapacitors. The activated carbon-based flexible supercapacitor device with the MOG electrolyte has a broad potential window of 2.1 V, with high retention of specific capacitance compared to the traditional polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-based gel. The advent of nano-biotechnology has inspired the interface interaction study between engineered nanoparticles (NPs) and biomolecules. The interaction between Fe content titanium dioxide (TiO2) NPs and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) biomolecules has been envisioned. The effect of Fe content in TiO2 matrix was studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The increase in Fe content caused a decrease in particle size with change in morphology from spherical to one-dimensional rod structure. The Fe incorporation in the TiO2 matrix reduced the transition temperature from anatase to rutile (A-R) phase along with formation of haematite phase of iron oxide at 400°C. The interaction of Fe content TiO2 NPs with ATP molecule has been studied using spectroscopic method of Raman scattering and infrared vibration spectrum along with TEM. Fe content in TiO2 has enhanced the interaction efficiency of the NPs with ATP biomolecules. Raman spectroscopy confirms that the NPs interact strongly with nitrogen (N7) site in the adenine ring of ATP biomolecule. Engineering of Fe content TiO2 NP could successfully tune the coordination between metal oxide NPs with biomolecules, which could help in designing devices for biomedical applications. 相似文献
